Your home is where Christ is.

Good morning. Today’s verses are Philippians 3:20–21: “For our citizenship is in heaven, from which we also eagerly wait for the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, who will transform our lowly body that it may be conformed to His glorious body, according to the working by which He is able even to subdue all things to Himself.”

Dear brothers and sisters, Paul reminds us of a truth that reshapes how we see everything in this life:

Our citizenship is in heaven — right now.
Not someday.
Not eventually.
Not after death.
Now.

Because we have believed the gospel of grace, we already belong to the realm where Christ, the Head of the Body, is seated. Our identity is rooted there. Our hope is anchored there. Our future is secured there.

And with our hearts and minds focused on that heavenly homeland, we eagerly wait for the upward call of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ.

In today’s verses, Paul lifts our eyes to what awaits us when Christ appears:

He will transform our lowly bodies to be like His glorious body.

Every ache, every limitation, every indication of aging, every weakness we carry in these earthly bodies — all of it is temporary. Jesus’ resurrection not only secured the redemption of our souls and spirits; it secured the redemption of our bodies.

After His resurrection, Jesus possessed a glorified body that was incorruptible, immortal, and untouched by decay.
And according to Paul, we will share in that same glory.

This is not wishful thinking.
This is not religious optimism.
This is not a vague spiritual idea.

This is the certain hope of those whose citizenship is in heaven.

So as we age…
As our strength fades…
As our bodies remind us that we are dust…

We do not despair.

We lift our eyes to heaven — our true home — and we wait for the Savior who will finish what He began. The One who saved us by grace will transform us by the same power that raised His lifeless body from the grave. The One who, through His finished work of the cross, brought reconciliation with God, will one day conform our earthly bodies to His glory.

Your future is not fragile.
Your destiny is not uncertain.
Your hope is not dependent on your strength.

You are a citizen of heaven.
Jesus Christ, the resurrected and living Savior, will one day renew your mortal body.
