Good morning! Today’s Bible verse is Romans 8:11: “But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you.”
This verse highlights the role of the Triune God in the believer’s salvation, sanctification, and ultimate physical restoration. God the Father had a plan for the restoration and reconciliation of mankind through Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross. In obedience to God the Father’s plan, Jesus willingly went to the cross, took on the sins of the world, which led to His death. Then, the Holy Spirit raised Jesus bodily from the dead, completing God’s plan for salvation and eternal life.
Dear brothers and sisters, this passage reminds us that those who believe in God’s promise of the gospel of grace will one day be raised physically. The promise of eternal life is available to everyone, but it can only be claimed by those who have embraced the gospel of grace through faith alone.
The Holy Spirit given to us who believe is the seal and promise that we will one day be raised to newness of life and live in glorified bodies like the glorious body of Jesus Christ. Although our mortal bodies may decay and die, through faith in the gospel of grace, we who believe have the hope and assurance of living again in glorified bodies, just like our resurrected Savior, Jesus.
This is the message we, as ambassadors of Christ Jesus, are called to proclaim. The message of the gospel of grace is the only message of assurance and hope for a world lost in sin and death. A world that has no assurance of life eternal. We must emphasize that this assurance and hope cannot be earned or bought; it must be received through faith. Take a moment to reflect on the promise in this verse. It brings great assurance and joy to those who accept it!
