The mystery: God has formed one new people in Christ,
Jew and Gentile united as one Body.

Good morning. Today’s Bible verses are Ephesians 3:1–3,9: “For this reason I, Paul, the prisoner of Christ Jesus for you Gentiles— if indeed you have heard of the dispensation of the grace of God which was given to me for you, how that by revelation He made known to me the mystery …  and to make all see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the ages has been hidden in God who created all things through Jesus Christ…”

We live in a world overflowing with information, yet starving for truth. Anyone can search for answers, but not everyone asks the right questions. Who wrote this? Who was it written to? What was God doing at that moment in history? These questions matter—because without them, we end up shaping Scripture around our assumptions instead of letting Scripture shape us.

Every believer wants to walk with God, but we cannot walk with Him rightly unless we understand the message He has given for this present age. In Ephesians 3, Paul tells us plainly that God revealed something to him—a mystery hidden in God until the risen Christ made it known. If we want to understand who we are in Christ today, we must begin with the revelation Christ entrusted to Paul.

Paul calls this truth a mystery because it was hidden in God until He chose to reveal it to the apostle. The word mystery means simply “a secret.” This secret is not a riddle or a symbol—it is the revelation of what God is doing in this present dispensation of grace.

First — we are fellow‑heirs.

Paul says the Gentiles are now “fellow‑heirs,” sharing fully in the inheritance that comes through Christ. This is not a borrowed blessing or a secondary portion. It is equal standing in the riches of God’s grace. The mystery reveals that God has placed us on the same ground of acceptance, the same footing of favor, the same inheritance in Christ.

Application: You never come to God as a lesser believer. You stand in the same grace as every saint in the Body of Christ.

Second — we are one Body.

God has created something entirely new in this dispensation—a single Body, formed by the Spirit, where Jew and Gentile are joined together in Christ. Unity is not something we strive to manufacture; it is something God has already made true. This is the heart of the mystery: a new humanity, a new creation, a new identity rooted in Christ alone.

Application: You belong. You are not an outsider trying to fit in. You are a member of Christ’s Body, joined to Him and joined to every other believer by the Spirit.

Third — we are partakers of the promise.

Paul says we share in the promise in Christ through the gospel of grace—the promise of life, righteousness, peace, and the indwelling Spirit. These are not only future hopes; they are present realities for those in the Body of Christ. The mystery reveals that everything God intended for this age is already ours in Christ.

Application: You live from promise, not performance. Your daily walk is anchored in what Christ has already secured, not in what you are trying to achieve.

This is the mystery—the divine secret God kept hidden until He revealed it to Paul. And this mystery defines who we are in Christ today.

Meditation:
Father, thank You for revealing the mystery through the apostle Paul. Help me understand the truth You hid in Yourself and have now made known. Teach me to rest in the gospel of grace and to walk in the identity You have given me in Christ.

Reflection Question:
Which of the three marks of the mystery — fellow‑heirs, one Body, partakers of the promise — most shapes the way you understand your identity in Christ today?
