The Lord sees what others cannot, and He weighs the heart in truth.
Good morning. Today’s Bible verse is Proverbs 21:2: “Every way of a man is right in his own eyes, But the Lord weighs the hearts.”
We live in a world where appearance carries a lot of weight.
People explain their choices.
They defend their motives.
They trust what seems right to them.
But Scripture gently brings us back to the truth.
God sees past the surface.
The places no one else can see are open before Him.
Our judgment is limited, but the Lord’s is not.
Paul reminds us that God is concerned with the inner man, not just outward conduct. Ecclesiastes teaches that every work, every hidden thing, will one day be brought before God.
For the believer in the Body of Christ, this is not condemnation.
It is the Lord’s faithful assessment of our walk.
He weighs the heart because the heart reveals what we are truly resting in, valuing, and pursuing.
Life has its seasons.
Pain and blessing.
Stress and joy.
Heartache and laughter.
The Lord is not absent from any of it.
In difficulty, we look to Him for peace, guidance, and mercy.
In joy, we look to Him with gratitude.
Our identity in Christ steadies us in both places.
We are known by the One who sees clearly, judges rightly, and cares perfectly.
Dear brothers and sisters, let us walk before Him honestly.
Let us honor the God who made the heavens and the earth.
Let us bring Him our motives, our burdens, our questions, and our gratitude.
Nothing is hidden from His sight.
Nothing is outside His care.
Let us fear God—not from dread, but from devotion.
The New King James Version (Nashville: Thomas Nelson, 1982), Pr 21:2.
Meditation:
Lord, help me walk honestly before You. Search my heart and align my motives with Your truth. When I am burdened, steady me with Your peace. When I am joyful, keep me thankful. Teach me to live with reverence, trust, and quiet faithfulness.
Reflection Question:
What motive, burden, or concern do you need to bring honestly before the Lord today?
