Psalm 28 reflects the psalmist’s confidence in the Lord’s protection within Israel’s covenant relationship. While the Body of Christ does not claim Israel’s covenant promises as its own, this psalm still reveals God’s unchanging character: He is a faithful Protector whose strength never fails His people.
Good morning. Today’s Bible verse is Psalm 28:7:
“The LORD is my strength and my shield;
My heart trusted in Him, and I am helped;
Therefore my heart greatly rejoices,
And with my song I will praise Him.”
The world often celebrates what appears strong, enduring, or unbeatable.
The Titanic was once called unsinkable, yet it failed on its maiden voyage.
Even the strongest athletes eventually yield to age, weakness, and time.
Everything in this world — people, governments, and corporations — eventually gives way to weakness.
Time proves that nothing on this earth is indestructible.
So where is your trust resting today?
Take a few minutes today and read Psalm 28.
Psalm 28 was written within Israel’s covenant setting;
the psalmist cries to the Lord and rejoices in His help,
and the truth it reveals is God’s unchanging nature;
His faithfulness is the psalmist’s true strength and shield.
The psalmist’s confidence is simple: his heart trusted in the Lord, and he was helped. He acknowledges that his help did not rise from himself. It comes from the Lord — the One who is always present to protect and guard His own.
Dear brothers and sisters, we can learn from the psalmist concerning the unchanging nature of God.
Even though difficulties and hardships confront His people,
God’s sovereign grace never fails.
For us who are members of the Body of Christ,
our identity in Christ is where we find true help.
By His work of the cross, His resurrection, and His intercession for us who believe,
His faithfulness provides strength and a shield for the weary heart.
Paul gives the believer this assurance:
“But the Lord is faithful, who will establish you and guard you from the evil one.”
2 Thessalonians 3:3 (NKJV)
This is not confidence in our grip on Him,
but confidence in His faithfulness toward us.
So then, like the psalmist,
let your heart settle into the truth that God Himself is your strength.
He does not falter, nor does He grow weak,
nor does He withdraw His protection from His children.
Remember, as a believer in the gospel of grace:
Your strength may fail, but the Lord never will,
and His love for you will never diminish.

Lord, teach my heart to rest in Your strength and trust Your faithful protection when my own strength fails.
