Standing in grace — held by Christ, not by effort.

Good morning. Today’s Scripture is Romans 5:2: “through whom also we have access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.”

There is a difference between being saved by grace and standing in grace.
One is the doorway.
The other is where you now live.

Paul tells us that through Christ, we have access by faith into a new realm.
A new position.
A new standing before God.

This is not a feeling.
It is not a passing spiritual mood.
It does not rise and fall with your performance.

It is a fixed, unchanging position granted to you the moment you believed the gospel.

You do not stand in fear.
You do not stand in guilt.
You do not stand in uncertainty.
You stand in grace—fully accepted, fully forgiven, fully secure.

This standing is not maintained by your strength.
It is held by Christ’s finished work.

Dear brothers and sisters, many believers live as though they are still trying to earn God’s approval.

They measure themselves by their failures.
By their inconsistencies.
By their emotions.

But Paul reminds us that our standing is not based on our performance.
It is based on Christ.

Because we stand in grace, Paul can exhort us in 1 Corinthians 16:13 (NKJV), “stand fast in the faith.”
Our position shapes our posture.

We stand firm because we stand in grace.
This is the foundation for everything that follows in the Christian life.

Before Paul teaches us about the conflict within or the walk of the Spirit, he anchors us in this truth: You stand in grace, and nothing can move you from that place.
Today, rejoice in this hope.

You are not striving to reach God.
You are standing in what Christ has already accomplished for you.

Meditation:
I stand in grace — secure, accepted, and held by Christ alone.

Reflection Question:
Where do you still feel pressure to earn God’s approval, and how does Romans 5:2 free you from that burden?
