You are sealed by God. You are secure in Christ.
The world may shake, but His seal does not.
Good morning. Today’s Bible verses are Ephesians 1:13–14: “In Him you also trusted, after you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation; in whom also, having believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise, who is the guarantee of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, to the praise of His glory.”
The world is in chaos.
Nations tremble.
Leaders argue.
Opinions clash.
Truth feels buried beneath layers of noise, fear, and confusion.
But for those of us who belong to the Body of Christ, the question is not, “What is happening in the world?”
The question is, “What has God already done for us?”
Paul answers that question with clarity:
• We heard the word of truth.
• We believed the gospel of our salvation.
• And God sealed us with the Holy Spirit of promise.
When Paul wrote that the Ephesians “heard the word of truth,” he wasn’t referring to the New Testament — it didn’t exist yet. He meant the message he preached, the gospel entrusted to him by the risen Christ. His spoken words were the very words of God for this dispensation of grace.
Today, we do not have apostles or prophets speaking new revelation.
But we do have the written Word of God, preserved for us, containing the same gospel of grace Paul preached. When we believed the message of the cross — Christ died for our sins, was buried, and rose again (1 Corinthians 15:1–4) — God did something permanent, invisible, and unchangeable:
He sealed us.
Not with wax.
Not with a symbol.
Not with a feeling.
With the Holy Spirit Himself.
The Spirit is God’s guarantee, His down payment, His pledge that we belong to Him until the day Christ returns to redeem His purchased possession. No world event can break that seal. No political upheaval can shake it. No failure, fear, or weakness can undo it.
Dear brothers and sisters, do not get lost in the fog of world events.
This world is not our home.
Our hope is not in governments or outcomes.
Our future is not tied to the rise or fall of nations.
We are sealed.
We are secure.
We are His.
And soon, very soon, the One who redeemed us will call us home, and all the confusion of this world will disappear when He comes in the clouds and calls us home to be with Him forever.
The New King James Version (Nashville: Thomas Nelson, 1982), Eph 1:13–14.
Meditation:
Lord, thank You for sealing me with Your Spirit. Help me rest in the security You have given, not in the stability the world promises.
Reflection Question:
How does knowing you are sealed by the Holy Spirit change the way you face the uncertainty of this world?
