Good morning. Today's Bible verse is 2 Timothy 3:13-14: “But evil men and impostors will grow worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived. But you must continue in the things which you have learned and been assured of, knowing from whom you have learned them…”

When Paul wrote to Timothy, he warned him that difficult times would come and false teachers would try to lead many astray. His letter was an urgent call for Timothy to remain steadfast in the truth he had learned. Paul stressed that faithfulness to sound teaching would keep the Body of Believers strong, even as the world grew increasingly chaotic. He called Timothy and all believers to stay faithful to the gospel despite increasing deception.

Dear brothers and sisters, Paul’s message to Timothy remains urgent for us today: though the world will grow worse, our calling is to remain faithful to God’s Word, which teaches:

  • There is one true and living God, the God revealed in the Bible.

  • The God of the Bible created all things, seen and unseen.

  • God created mankind, male and female.

  • Adam, as the representative head of mankind, sinned and brought sin and rebellion into the world, affecting all who dwell in it. Now, all of mankind stands guilty before the holy and just God of the Bible.

  • The only message of salvation is found in believing the gospel of grace, centered on the death, burial, and bodily resurrection of Jesus Christ.

The world, the flesh, and the Devil will continually attempt to distort and confuse the truth found in God’s word. In response, we must stand firm by studying the Scriptures, focusing on Paul’s teachings and doctrines from Romans to Philemon, relying on the guidance of the Holy Spirit, and encouraging one another as we navigate these challenging times.

Reflection: No matter what you hear, see, or experience in this world, remain steadfast in the truth.
