Good morning. Today’s Bible verses are Colossians 3:8-11: “But now you yourselves are to put off all these: anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy language out of your mouth. Do not lie to one another. You have put off the old man with his deeds and have put on the new man. He is renewed in knowledge according to the image of Him who created him. There is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcised nor uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, slave nor free. Still, Christ is all and in all.”
Yesterday’s verses (12/08/25) emphasized that believers must act decisively, as their old nature of sin no longer rules them. By faith in the gospel of grace, they are empowered by the Holy Spirit—the same power that raised Jesus Christ from the dead—to resist sinful impulses. This requires ongoing vigilance and a deliberate choice to resist the old self’s patterns and desires. Believers understand that living by grace does not earn God’s favor. We are to reject the old nature and live by grace because believers have been granted everything from God.
Dear brothers and sisters, we are called to embrace a new way of life as members of the Body of Christ. This transformation is seen in our thoughts, speech, and actions. It sets us apart from the rest of the world. The Christian life involves change that reflects Christ’s image. This change comes from our faith in the gospel of grace. Believers are urged to reject worldly ways and show love and unity. These actions and attitudes should mark our community and bring glory to God. As members of the Body, joined by faith and guided by the Holy Spirit, we show God's power to change lives in a broken world. Our way of living demonstrates how faith in the gospel of grace transforms us into individuals who live, love, and serve one another for the glory of God.

Reflection: What old habits can you let go of today, so you can better live as a new person in the Body of Christ?
