You have put on the new man — now walk in who you are in Christ.

Good morning. Today’s Bible verses are Colossians 3:8–11: “But now you yourselves are to put off all these… put on the new man who is renewed in knowledge according to the image of Him who created him… but Christ is all and in all.”

Yesterday we saw that the believer’s old nature is dead. Today Paul shows us what it looks like to live in that truth: we put off the old man and put on the new.

Paul reminds us that believers are to put off the old man and put on the new man. This is not a future hope — it is a present reality. In Christ, we are renewed in knowledge according to His image.

Though we still wrestle with the old nature as it seeks to draw us away from Christ, we are not helpless before it. We yield to the new nature and put on the attitudes and actions of the new man.

Because of this new identity, we are called to stop following the world’s patterns. We put off lying. Our speech reflects Paul’s teaching of the gospel of grace. We choose not to walk in anger, wrath, or malice.

We are not sent to emulate Israel’s kingdom commission or “convert the world” through the Great Commission. In this present dispensation of grace, we live as ambassadors of Christ, serving together as the Body of Christ according to the grace‑given instructions Paul received from the risen Lord.

Paul’s exhortation is practical, simple, and Spirit‑empowered: put off the attitudes and actions of the old nature, and put on the character of Christ.

Dear brothers and sisters, we are not called to be perfect — but we are called to walk as those who have been made new in Christ.

The gospel of grace has made us one Body; let us live in that unity. Let our words encourage, build up, and reflect the grace we have received in Christ.

So then, let us walk in the character of Christ — in our thoughts, words, and actions — and show the unity we already possess in the gospel of grace.

Christ is all. And Christ is in all.

Meditation:
Lord, renew my mind according to who I am in Christ. Help me put off the old ways and walk in the unity of Your Body.

Reflection Question:
What old habit or attitude do you need to put off today as you walk in who you are in Christ?
