You Are No Longer God’s Enemy
Reconciliation is God’s work — and it is finished.

Good morning. Today’s verses are 2 Corinthians 5:18–19: “Now all things are of God, who has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ, and has given us the ministry of reconciliation, that is, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not imputing their trespasses to them, and has committed to us the word of reconciliation.”

As a believer in the gospel of grace, pause to consider one of the most comforting truths of your identity in Christ:

You are no longer God’s enemy. You are reconciled to Him.

Since Adam’s fall, humanity has lived in spiritual conflict with a holy and righteous God. The world, the flesh, and the devil oppose Him. Every person enters life separated from God, spiritually dead, and unable to bridge the divide.

But God — rich in mercy and moved by love — acted.

He did not wait for us to make peace. He did not demand that we fix ourselves. He did not require us to negotiate terms.
He reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ.
At the cross, God removed the hostility. He judged sin in His Son. He made peace through the blood of Christ. He opened the way for sinners to become sons and daughters.

And now, through faith in the gospel of grace, we stand before God:
• forgiven
• accepted
• welcomed
• loved
• at peace

“Not imputing their trespasses to them.”
This is not a feeling. This is not a mood. This is not a spiritual guess.
Your standing is secure because you have believed the gospel of grace.

So then, dear brothers and sisters, understand this:
You are reconciled. You are at peace with God. You are no longer under wrath. You are no longer His enemy. You are no longer far off.

And now, as members of the Body of Christ, God has entrusted us with the “word of reconciliation.” We do not negotiate peace — we announce it. We do not offer ourselves — we offer Christ. We do not point people to law — we point them to grace.

Reconciliation is God’s work. We simply carry the message.

So today, rest in this truth: You are reconciled to God through Jesus Christ. Walk in the peace He has already secured.

The New King James Version (Nashville: Thomas Nelson, 1982), 2 Co 5:18–19.

Meditation:
Father, thank You for reconciling me to Yourself through Jesus Christ. Help me rest in the peace You have made and walk today with confidence in my standing before You.

Reflection Question:
How does knowing you are fully reconciled to God change the way you face guilt, fear, or uncertainty?
