Good morning. Today’s Bible verses are Romans 12:4,5: “For as we have many members in one body, but all the members do not have the same function, so we, being many, are one Body in Christ, and individually members of one another.”

Paul now shifts from how we view ourselves to how we interact with one another.
He uses the same picture in 1 Corinthians 12,
where he shows how the Holy Spirit places each believer in the Body and endows us with gifts for the good of others.

Life in the Body of Christ is never lived in isolation.
God designed us to belong,
to connect,
to contribute,
to depend on one another in grace.

Just as a human body has many parts,
each having its own purpose,
its own strength,
its own role,
so the Body of Christ is made up of different members
with different gifts
and different functions.

Unity does not mean sameness.
Diversity does not mean division.
Every member matters.
Every gift has value.
Every believer has a place.

Paul reminds us that we are “individually members of one another.”
This is more than shared belief.
It is shared life.
Shared responsibility.
Shared grace.

We do not compete with one another.
We do not compare ourselves to one another.
We do not withdraw from one another.
We belong to one another. And belonging does not require a building to define the Body.

Dear brothers and sisters, this truth now turns toward how we live it out.
When we see ourselves as part of Christ’s Body,
we begin to appreciate the gifts God has placed in others.
We begin serving with joy rather than pressure.
We begin to recognize that our strengths are meant to bless others,
and their strengths are meant to bless us.

No one has everything.
No one is meant to.
Christ is the Head.
We are His members.
And together, we express Him more fully than we ever could alone.

The New King James Version (Nashville: Thomas Nelson, 1982), Ro 12:4–5.

Meditation:
Let us thank the Father for placing us in the Body of Christ.
May His word teach us to value the gifts of others,
to walk in the grace given to us,
and to serve with humility and joy.
Let us remember that we belong to one another
because we belong to Christ.
Amen.
