Look up — your blessed hope is near.

Good morning. Today’s Bible verse is Titus 2:13: “…looking for the blessed hope and glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ…”

Take a few moments and read Titus 2:11–15.

Paul reminds Titus that grace not only saves us —
it teaches us how to live in this present age.
Grace teaches us to put off ungodliness.
Grace teaches us to put on righteousness.
And at the center of grace living is this simple call:

Live in the present
Look for the blessed hope.

The blessed hope is the appearing of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ —
the moment when He descends into the clouds
and gathers His Body to Himself.
This is the next event in God’s plan for the ages,
and it is the hope that steadies us
as the world grows darker by the day.

So do not despair.
Do not measure your future
by the condition of this world.
Look up.
Your redemption draws near.

This world is not our home.
We are citizens of heaven,
walking through a fallen world
with aging bodies,
daily pressures,
and spiritual opposition —
yet always with our eyes lifted
toward the promise of His coming.

One day soon,
Jesus will call us home,
and we will be with Him forever.

Until that day,
we live by grace,
we trust the God who cannot lie,
and we anchor our hearts
in the hope that cannot fail.

The New King James Version (Nashville: Thomas Nelson, 1982), Tt 2:13.

Meditation:
Grace encourages us to live in the present
and to seek the blessed hope for the future.
