In today’s world, living peaceably with all people can feel increasingly difficult.
Good morning. Today’s Bible verse is Romans 12:18:
“If it is possible, as much as depends on you, live peaceably with all men.”
As our culture drifts from the Judeo-Christian values
that once shaped it,
conflict rises,
truth is challenged,
and believers often find themselves standing against ideas
that oppose the clear teaching of Scripture.
Paul does not call us to surrender truth
or compromise our convictions.
Instead, he reminds us that our responsibility
is to pursue peace whenever possible
and to ensure that we are not the cause
of unnecessary conflict.
This is only possible
through the power of the gospel of grace
and the work of the Holy Spirit within us.
By studying and applying Paul’s teachings for this age,
we learn how to stand firm
without becoming quarrelsome,
how to speak truth
without hostility,
and how to resist the world’s system
without mirroring its anger.
As ambassadors of the gospel of grace,
we represent the message
of the One who sends us.
God has entrusted to us
the ministry of reconciliation
(2 Corinthians 5:20),
and our lives should reflect
the peace we proclaim.
Dear brothers and sisters, as we await the rapture,
let us embody today’s verse.
Let us stand against false teaching
and the rise of secularism,
not with bitterness or strife,
but with the good message
of reconciliation and freedom
found in Christ’s finished work.
In doing so,
we remember Paul’s call
to overcome evil with good—
the good message
of the gospel of grace.
The New King James Version (Nashville: Thomas Nelson, 1982), Ro 12:18.
Meditation:
Grace teaches us to pursue peace without surrendering truth.
As much as depends on us, we walk in the Spirit, standing firm in the gospel
while refusing to mirror the hostility of this world.
Reflection Question:
Where is the Lord inviting you today to seek peace without compromise, to stand without strife, and to reflect steady strength?
