You don’t live trying to gain blessings—you live from blessings already given in Christ.

Good morning. Today’s Bible verse is Ephesians 1:3: “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ.”

Truth to Consider

Paul sets before us a wonderful truth: God has already blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ. Nothing is missing, and nothing is left for us to earn.

If Day 5 reminded us of our position in Christ, Day 6 reminds us of our sufficiency in Christ. Take a few minutes to read Ephesians 1:3-14.
Paul is not describing blessings we hope to receive someday. He is describing blessings God has already given that define who we are and what we possess as members of Christ’s Body.

These blessings are not earthly or future rewards. They are the spiritual riches God poured out on us the moment we believed the gospel of grace.

1. Chosen in Christ (v. 4)

Paul says God “chose us” in Christ before the foundation of the world. This choosing is not about favoritism or merit. It is God’s gracious act of placing us in Christ, setting us apart for Himself. In His eyes, we are holy and without blame—not because of our performance, but because of our position in His Son.

We don’t grow into this over time. God has already declared it to be true.

2. Predestined and adopted (v. 5)

God predestined us to adoption as sons. This is not about determining who would be saved. It is about the place He gives to every believer in the Body of Christ. Adoption means full standing, full rights, full inheritance. God brought us into His family with the status of sons—complete and accepted.

3. Accepted in the Beloved (v. 6)

Paul says we are “accepted in the Beloved.” This is not a grudging welcome or a probationary place with God.

Accepted.

Your acceptance is not based on your behavior.
It is anchored in Christ Himself.

4. Redemption and forgiveness (v. 7)

Through Christ’s blood, we have redemption and the forgiveness of sins. This is not partial forgiveness or temporary relief. It is full deliverance—from sin’s penalty, its pollution, and its enslaving power. God has dealt with sin completely, and He did it through the finished work of Christ.

This is a present reality, not a future hope.

5. Made to know the mystery (vv. 8–9)

God has made known to us the mystery of His will—the revelation of the Body of Christ, the new humanity formed in Christ, and our heavenly calling. This understanding is itself a spiritual blessing. Israel never received this revelation. It was given to Paul for us.

To know the mystery is to know who we are.

6. Given an inheritance (v. 11)

Paul says we have “obtained an inheritance.”
Israel will receive theirs when the kingdom is established.
But we, the Body of Christ, already possess ours.

Our inheritance is heavenly, secure, and tied to our union with Christ.
We’re not waiting for this inheritance someday. It’s something we live from right now.

7. Sealed with the Holy Spirit (v. 13)

The Spirit is God’s seal—His mark of ownership and His guarantee that everything He promised is ours. The Spirit’s sealing is not a feeling. It is a divine act that secures us until the day of redemption.

You are sealed by the Spirit, secure in Christ, and marked as His own.

A complete sufficiency

These blessings—chosen, holy, adopted, accepted, redeemed, forgiven, enlightened, given an inheritance, and sealed—are not rewards for effort. They are gifts of grace, already yours in Christ.

Knowing this frees you from striving and fear, and from the pressure to earn what God has already given.

You live each day not trying to gain blessings, but resting in blessings already yours.

Meditation:
Father, thank You for blessing me with every spiritual blessing in Christ. Help me see that nothing is missing and nothing is left for me to earn. Teach me to live from the sufficiency You have already given, resting in the grace and completeness that are mine in Christ.
