The Light of Today

The demons of yesterday crouch at the door,

Whispers of sorrow, regrets that implore.

The demons of tomorrow lurk in the shade,

Fears of the future, shadows they’ve made.

But here in the present, the light shines bright,

A word of hope to guide through the night.

The Bible is true, and the Spirit is near,

No need to tremble, no reason to fear.

For demons may linger, they’ll always remain,

Yet powerless whispers, empty of gain.

Stand in the promise, let courage stay—

All we have, all we need, is the light of today.

Good morning. Today’s Bible verse is Psalm 119:105:

“Your word is a lamp to my feet

And a light to my path.”

Life often feels like a battle on two fronts: the regrets of yesterday and the fears of tomorrow. Yesterday whispers, “You failed,” while tomorrow murmurs, “You might fall.” These voices try to steal our peace, but they hold no real power.

Dear brothers and sisters, the darkness of yesterday and murkiness of tomorrow can only be penetrated by the light of God’s Word. As David conveys in his psalm, God’s Word is unchanging, and His Spirit is ever-present. Therefore, we know that the demons of the past cannot undo the grace that covers us today, and the shadows of the future cannot dim the light of today’s promise that we have as members of the Body of Christ. In this moment, we have everything we need—hope, truth, and the presence of God the Holy Spirit.

Let His promises be your shield and let His Spirit be your guide. Today is a gift, and in His light, you are victorious.
