Our standing is secure and complete
Your acceptance is not earned — it is secured in the Beloved.

Good morning. Today’s verse is Ephesians 1:6: “… to the praise of the glory of His grace, by which He made us accepted in the Beloved.”

Truth to Consider

Paul declares one of the most comforting truths in all of Scripture: “God has made us accepted in the Beloved.” This is not a goal we work toward. It is a fact God has already accomplished.

Paul says this acceptance is “to the praise of the glory of His grace.”
In other words, our salvation, our standing, and our security all serve one purpose: God’s glory. We benefit from His grace, but the foundation of everything God has done is His own glory and faithfulness.

Because God’s glory is at stake, our acceptance in Christ is unshakable.

1. Acceptance is God’s work, not ours

Paul writes that God “made us accepted.”
Not “is making.”
Not “will make.”
Not “might make if we perform well.”

He made us accepted — a completed act of God’s grace.

This acceptance is not based on our behavior, our consistency, or our spiritual progress. It rests entirely on Christ, the Beloved Son, and on God’s purpose in Him.

2. Our standing is secure because God’s purpose is secure

We live in a fallen world. We stumble, we sin, and we sense our weakness.

But none of these things change our standing before God.
Why? Because our acceptance is tied to His purpose, not our performance.

If our standing depended on us, we would lose it.
But because it depends on God, it cannot be undone.

His glory is at stake.
His integrity stands behind it.
And He does not fail.

3. Grace is not a license — it is a foundation

Knowing we are accepted does not lead us to carelessness.
It leads us to gratitude.

This assurance is not permission to sin.
It is the freedom to live as those who are already His — without fear, without striving, without trying to earn what God has already given.

We live out our salvation, not to keep it, but because it is secure.

4. Accepted in the Beloved — today and forever

To be “accepted in the Beloved” means:

  • God sees you in Christ

  • God receives you because of Christ

  • God delights in you through Christ

  • God keeps you secure in Christ

Your acceptance is not fragile or temporary.

It is not conditional.

It is anchored in the Beloved — and nothing can touch it.

Meditation:
Father, thank You for making me accepted in the Beloved. Teach me to rest in the standing You have given me, and to live each day with gratitude, confidence, and humility. Help me walk in the freedom of Your grace, knowing my acceptance is secure in Christ.
