God’s finished work secures my position in Christ
and directs my confidence today.

I begin this day secure in God’s love and in my standing in Christ.
Good morning. Today’s verses are Romans 8:31–32:
“What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things?”
Reflection
Romans 8 affirms the believer’s secure standing in Christ and focuses on the promise of the Holy Spirit's ongoing presence, empowering believers to live confidently in their settled identity.
Today’s verses direct the believer’s confidence to God’s provision for those in Christ. God gave His Son for salvation, and by that grace and mercy, He continually provides what believers need for sanctification in this life as members of the Body of Christ. Believers’ assurance of salvation and sanctification rests in the finished work of Jesus Christ on the cross, not in changing circumstances that confront a member of the Body in this life.
Dear brothers and sisters, if God has given His best in His Son for our salvation, we can trust He will freely provide all we need for our sanctification. So then, let us live by faith and live with confidence in His mercy and grace.
