When feelings waver, God’s grace still holds the heart steady.
Good morning. Today’s Bible verse is Isaiah 54:10:
“For the mountains shall depart
And the hills be removed,
But My kindness shall not depart from you,
Nor shall My covenant of peace be removed,”
Says the LORD, who has mercy on you.”
Have you ever had one of those days when you don’t feel bad, but you don’t feel well either?
Something in your world feels unsettled, even though there is still a measure of peace beneath it.
You know that God is there, yet you still feel alone.
Those are the days when we need to remember and rest in the promises of God’s Word. God our Father never promised that every day would be filled with happiness, but He did promise that He would never leave us.
For those who have trusted Jesus Christ, who died for our sins, was buried, and rose again the third day according to the Scriptures, salvation is by grace alone through faith alone.
His love and compassion steady us when the day feels uneasy. Even when health, happiness, and comfort seem just beyond reach, God’s grace remains near.
At times, I feel that way. The changes and uncertainties of life can cloud my thinking and trouble my heart.
In the past, I often tried to find happiness and relief in my own strength, apart from depending on the ministry of God the Holy Spirit.
But I have learned that even days of uneasiness can drive me back to the Word, where I am reminded of the Father’s love and compassion. As I rely on God the Holy Spirit to guide me, I find comfort in the promises God has given in His Word.
Isaiah 54:10 is one such passage. In its original context, this promise was spoken to Israel, assuring the nation of the LORD’s covenant mercy and peace.
We must not take Israel’s covenant promises and make them ours as though the Body of Christ were Israel. Yet this passage still shows God's unchanging compassion toward His people.
Dear brothers and sisters, for us who have believed the gospel of Christ — His death, burial, and bodily resurrection — our assurance rests in what God has declared through Paul: we are justified by faith, secure in Christ, and sealed by the Holy Spirit.
On days when you or I feel alone, we can know that God understands our heart, and God the Holy Spirit, the Blessed Comforter, dwells in us.
He will not forsake what He has promised, and He will not forsake His own.

Father, when my mind feels unsettled, let Your grace calm my heart. Keep me steady in Your Word and remind me that my identity is secure in Christ.
