Good morning. Today’s Bible verse is King James Matthew 6:34: “Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.”
When Jesus spoke these words, He was preparing Israel for life in the Kingdom, urging them to trust God for their daily needs as they served Him. While this instruction was for Israel, it reflects a timeless truth: do not worry. This truth applies to God’s people of any age.
Dear Brothers and sisters, in this age of grace, Paul reiterates this truth and reminds us not to be anxious (Phil. 4:17) but to bring our concerns to God with thanksgiving (1 Thess. 5:18). This action of faith doesn’t ignore life’s realities; it chooses to trust God with the uncontrollable. Worry demonstrates a lack of faith and leads us toward an uncertain future and doubt, while trust in God’s promises anchors us in God’s grace today. As members of the Body of Christ, God calls us to choose wisely each day, live by faith and walk in the Spirit, leaving tomorrow’s troubles to Him, who is never surprised by what lies ahead. This attitude is not “Let god and let God,” but an expression of faith and trust, which is what God desires from His people in any age.
Reflection: Release the weight of what might be and rest in the God who holds what will be. Faith over worry — grace for today, trust for tomorrow.
